New Sony VAIO TX Notebooks Announced Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review

Sony unveiled the first high-definition camcorder with both Smile Shutter and face detection technologies - Sony HDR-CX12.

The Sony HDR-CX12 camcorder can record full 1920 x 1080 HD video and 10MP photos on Sony Memory Stick PRO Duo media and any Memory Stick PRO Duo (Mark2) media cards.

With Sony's unique Smile Shutter technology you can capture smiling photos and record video at the same time. When activated the technology will detect and automatically take a photo when your subject smiles, without having to switch to photo mode or press the photo button.

It also features child and adult prioritization so you can capture photos when your intended subject group smiles. This camcorder can even detect and capture a smile while in standby mode.

Other features of the Sony HDR-CX12 include Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* 12x optical zoom, super steady shot, 2.7-inch Clear Photo LCD Plus screen and Dolby Digital 5.1-channel surround sound recording.

Measurements of the compact Sony HDR-CX12 are 2.8-inches wide by 5.3-inches tall by 2.8-inches deep).
The HDR-CX12 camcorder will be in stores in early August for about $900 including a 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo (Mark2).

The First Next Generation Game Console is nearly here - Pre-Order Started for the Microsoft Xbox 360.

Premier online retailer Amazon started to offer the Microsoft Xbox 360 console for pre-order in the United Kingdom and in Germany. The US Amazon.com site has not opened pre-order yet. I expect the will soon do so. Amazon.com already lists lots of Xbox 360 games for pre-order.
