Coolest Demo at CES 2009: D-Box Motion Chair

Under all the stuff shown at the CES 2009 the demo of the D-Box motion chair was the best. In a little Cinema the company had about a dozen recliner chairs available. The D-Box Odyssee motion system simulates the motion in sync. with the action on screen. They showed a short segment of the latest Harry Potter movie. It was the scene when they sit in the train and the prisoner shows up. D-Box also showed a short segment of driving a formula one car. The motion of the recliner really adds to the experience similar to those virtual reality rides found in entertainment centers. D-Box creates the motion cue CDs for most of the new DVD movies that come on the market. Those CDs have to placed in the control system and they play in sync. with the movie DVD. It sure looks a bit funny to see such a chair in a living room infront of a TV and it moves and wiggles. Depending on the options a D-Box motion chair is around $5,000. More details on D-Box.

Aigo MP3 Sunglasses at CES 2009 Video Report

Chinese Electronics Manufacturer presented MP3 Player Sunglasses at the CES 2009 similar to the Oakley Thump MP3 Sunglasses introduced a couple of month ago. Aigo also offers a range of MP3 players including a MP3 Player wristwatch. This company presents itself quite good and stood out for me at the show amongst other chinese OEM manufacturers. Most Weird Gadget from CES 2009: WowWee Click Speak

WowWee introduces besides cool new robots the Speak Click Mouse replacement gadget. I saw tons of gadgets at the CES 2009 show, but the Speak Click is winning in terms of weirdness. This female head with blinking eyes is voice activated. It opens programs and executes simple windows commands and says funny things while doing it. Watch the video to see for yourself.

New WowWee Robospien Robots at CES 2009 Video

WowWee shows three new robosapien toy robots. In 2009 WowWee will introduce a new taller more functional humanoid robot. The new Robosapien can do situps and other more advanced stunts compared to the currently available Robosapien. WowWee introduces also the Robo Pet and the Robo Raptor Dinosaur Robot. The Robo Pet Dog robot is able to not fall off the table and can stand up by himself. The Robo Raptor is awesome. The way the robot moves is very real. Are You Sick of Using Video Tapes in Camcorders?

JVC offers a line of Video Cameras that use Hard-drives instead of Video Tapes. JVC is still the only company that has Video Cameras on the market that use hard-drives to store DVD quality video. It is in my mind a very obvious solution in a complete digital environment that we are in now.
Nobody is questioning that we stopped use film in digital cameras. So why do still most video cameras on the market use tape? Sure the data volume is much higher for video, memory sticks or SD cards offer to little space to record hours of high quality videos. Now that portable hard-drives are used to store your complete music library it is of course also possible to record hours of high quality video on them.
Right now JVC offers three models with a 4GB hard-drive: The GZ-MC100 ($899.99), The GZ-MC200 ($998.94) and the new high-end GZ-MC-500 ($1,599.95). If you need more storage, JVC will start ship end of August the JVC Everio G-Series camcorders that boast 20 and 30GB hard-drives. That means up to 37 hours of video recording on the 30GB models and up to 25 hours on the 20GB model - Tape just died, as film did. Amazon.com opened pre-order on the new JVC Everio G-Series camcorders. You can get the GZ-MG20 for $799.95, the GZ-MG40 for $899.99 and the GZ-MG50 for $999.99.
